Cemeteries Dept to Utilize MRT Project Soil ExcavationAccording to Suandar, online system for burial service would ease people in finding burial land and simplify officers in collecting data. If the trial went well, the burial service online system will be applied gradually in 78 public cemeteries in Jakarta.
Besides informing land availability, the heir names will also be listed on the website. Thus, the system of makam tumpang (a tomb that contains more than one bodies), that has been applied all this time, could be recorded well. This is because makam tumpang system only applies to bodies that have a blood relationship or family.
“Through burial online system, the availability of burial land can be known. We also want the heir names to be listed to ease data collection,” he said.
Sunandar also disclosed that the burial system will also related to regional income. This is in line with the instruction of Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama who wants no more transaction in cash.
“If the burial online system went successful, it will also connect to tax and goes straight to local treasury considering the (burial) payment is (conducted) online,” he uttered.
